Bank account registration
In order to receive your payment you must register a Japanese bank account under your name within your first week at work.
To do so, ask your job agent for the Bank account registration form (Ginko kouza touroku youshi).
1. Fill out the form The information has to match your bank book.
2. Attach a copy of the cover and the first page of your bank book.
3. Return it in the yellow envelope.

Income tax dependent declaration(shotokuzei)
You can declare your dependents in Japan and/or abroad and receive an tax exempt according to its regulation.
The declaration is mandatory to all regardless of having dependents or not.
The declaration will be sent to you within a week of the month you start working. fail to submit it will cause the taxes being higher than usual.

Social insurance dependent declaration(shakai hoken)
You will be enrolled in the Social insurance (Shakai Hoken) on your first day of contract, it is mandatory and not optional*

The submission of your my number is mandatory

*We cannot deliver your health insurance card (shakai hoken) until you submit your my number or pension number. This also applies to your dependents, if you did declare any.

If by unavoidable reasons you need to cancel your contract before its due date a 14 day notice is mandatory, contact your job agent and discuss about the date.

Attendance
Have a good attendance and being punctual are the basics when working in Japan.

Work absence
When you are going to be absent from work make sure you contact both your job agent and your working place prior to the date, or as soon as you know it.
Work absence with or without contact causes innumerous trouble to your working place and the company. Frequent and continuous absence may lead to the contract not being renewed, as in Japan good attendance and punctuality are highly valuated.
Paid leave
After 6 months you will receive paid leave.

Important notes
No paid leave request of the previous month will be taken after the 5th weekday of the following month
No paid leave on your days off
No money payment for days that haven’t been used or requested
If you change jobs within Techno Service, you still can use your paid leaves on your new job
The paid leave expires in 2 years
Salary
Payday
The payday is on the 25th.
Unless the 25th is on a weekend or holiday, on these cases the salary will be paid on the previous weekday.
The salary closing is on the last day of the month.
Payslip
You will receive your payslip after the 23rd every month

You can request a Salary advance up to ¥30,000 2 times a month, only on your first 2 months, Check the rules and how it works below:
End of contract or want to resign
Contract period
Check the contract period on the Contract that have been sent to you. Check the translation here
Contract renewal Your job agent will contact you 30 days prior to the due date regarding the contract renewal, if renewed the new contract will be issued and sent to you, there is no need to sign it.
If you there is no contract renovation or you want to resign check the procedures here
Resignation procedures
When you want to quit your job, contact your job agent and ask for other job introductions, if no other jobs have been introduced, check your current contract due date and respect it.
On your last day return all the company's belongings
Procedures related to insurance
You will receive by mail a green stamped envelope to return your insurance card and your dependents if you do have any.

Hello work documents
Unemployment insurance All Techno Service staff will be enrolled in the Unemployment insurance as it is mandatory.
Receiving the Allowance
If you are receiving the Unemployment insurance when hired, You will need to present the Employment agreement contract (Saiyo shomeisho) to Hello Work.
*If you do have a specific Hello Work format to be filled out, request the envelope to send it out for filling
*Techno Service format of Employment certificate can only be issued after the contract is made, it can take a few days to deliver it depending on the conditions

After you receive it, talk to the company and your job agent about the date you will take off to present it to Hello Work
Applying for the Unemployment insurance
When you resign from work you can request the Unemployment insurance at Hello Work, to do so you will need a resignation slip (Rishokuhyo)
*The resignation slip (Rishokuhyo), is issued by Hello Work and It will only be issued after:
We cannot speed up the process, or change the real reason of resignation under any circumstances

Year-end tax adjustment
In Japan by law the employer has to deduct taxes upon income from the employees according to a table set by the government. The taxes deducted differ from the actual income.
A readjustment is done once a year in December and it is called Year-end tax readjustment (Nenmatsu chousei). You can declare numerous expenses to receive a refund upon income tax by presenting the slips or receipts.
Income statement -Withholding slip (Gensen choushuhyo) If your only income was from Techno Service it is not necessary, otherwise you will need all the withholding slips from your previous employers this year.
Other expenses receipts: dependents, life insurance, earthquake insurance, housing loan, medical expenses etc..
If you failed to submit the Income tax declaration and you had your taxes charged more expensive than normal, make sure you do the readjustment to have it reimbursed
